Yemeni sources say Houthi forces have resumed missile and drone attacks on the port of Mocha.

The Pentagon, citing ammunition shortages tied to the conflict with Iran, has asked U.S. defense contractors to accelerate weapons deliveries and expand capacity. Deputy Defense Department leadership on Aug. 5 told industry chiefs to submit plans within 21 days to sharply speed deliveries, increase output of critical systems, and propose specific capital-investment and facility-expansion measures to compress multi-year development cycles. DoD spokesman Sean Parnell confirmed the memo's authenticity. A senior U.S. commander warned Pentagon ammunition stocks have fallen to "dangerously low" levels.

The 13th typhoon of the season, White Dolphin (strong typhoon), made landfall at about 17:30 on the 9th on the coast of Kanmen subdistrict, Yuhuan city, Taizhou, Zhejiang. Maximum winds near the center were force 14 (42 m/s) and central pressure was 945 hPa.
