Iran's foreign minister Araghchi said some mediating countries are still trying to create conditions for renegotiation, and that, in his view, talks cannot resume until the US ends and remedies its violations of the Islamabad memorandum.

Iran foreign minister Araghchi said on the 9th that Iran and Oman are in final-stage consultations to adjust shipping lanes in the Strait of Hormuz. He stressed that even if they agree on route adjustments, that would not amount to the Strait being reopened; reopening would require meeting a series of conditions. Araghchi said the plan under discussion would replace the current lane with a new channel and that technical work is underway by experts.
