Foxconn's electric-vehicle unit Foxtron reported a Jan–June net loss of NT$2.01 billion, or a NT$1.15 loss per share.

Chang'an University said a new mineral discovered and named jointly with the Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and other institutes — the Wushe River germanium mineral — received approval from the International Mineralogical Association's Commission on New Minerals, Nomenclature and Classification in August. It is the first independently occurring germanate mineral discovered in China. Germanium is a strategic metal used in semiconductors, fiber‑optic communications, infrared optics and solar PV; it has low crustal abundance, rarely forms independent ore bodies, and has typically been recovered as an associated element in lead‑zinc ores and coal.

JP Morgan on Monday raised its year-end S&P 500 target to 8,000, citing strong corporate profits and signs that major cloud providers' AI spending will soon accelerate revenue growth. The new target implies roughly 3.12% upside from the S&P's close at 7,757.64 last Friday.
