China's night session opened with most-active domestic futures higher. Low-sulfur fuel oil (LU) gained nearly 2%; fuel oil, SC crude, LPG, methanol, bitumen and polypropylene rose more than 1%. Glass, rapeseed meal and pulp eased slightly.

CHINA STATE PLANNER and the National Energy Administration issued the Coal Industry Development “15th Five-Year” Plan. By 2030 the plan targets a stronger coal supply backstop, optimized production layout and a higher share of advanced capacity; nationwide large modern coal mines to account for 87% of capacity and intelligent/automated mine capacity to rise to 75%. The plan also seeks materially improved safety, greener and more efficient coal use, accelerated development of coal‑based diversified industries, a coal consumption peak with enhanced dynamic supply‑demand balancing and storage/distribution systems, and upgraded industry governance to establish a modern coal sector and advance high‑quality development.

Iran's foreign ministry spokesman said the southern channel of the Strait of Hormuz is illegal, unsafe and violates a memorandum of understanding.
