Foreign media report GM will sell its 50% stake in a planned Indiana EV battery joint venture to partner Samsung SDI. Samsung SDI will acquire the 680-acre site, take control of the JV and own the planned battery plant in New Carlisle, Indiana. GM's exit from battery manufacturing is its latest strategic shift after EV demand fell short of expectations. People familiar say it is unclear how Samsung SDI will operate or dispose of the plant.
