Iran’s Supreme National Security Council secretary Rezai said the US is the source of insecurity in the Persian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz and Gulf of Oman and, by imposing an illegal war on Iran, has endangered the region. He said the Strait of Hormuz will not reopen as long as the US does not change its behavior and accept Iran’s conditions, which include ending the war, releasing frozen Iranian funds, ending conflicts in Lebanon and Gaza, and other demands conveyed to Washington via intermediaries. Rezai added that any Iran-Oman agreement on transit through the Strait would be dealt with separately from the blockade issue.
