People's Bank of China released its Q2 2026 monetary policy implementation report, flagging a push to build a comprehensive macroprudential management system and enrich the macroprudential policy toolkit. From macro, countercyclical and contagion‑prevention perspectives it will strengthen monitoring, assessment and early‑warning of systemic financial risks and broaden macroprudential coverage. The central bank said it will expand macroprudential and financial‑stability functions, innovate financial instruments to preserve market stability, and deepen macroprudential oversight of systemically important financial institutions, progressively extending additional supervisory measures into the non‑bank sector. For systemically important banks it will reinforce add‑on supervision, require selected banks to improve recovery and resolution plans, explore forward‑looking risk‑management guidance, and bolster cross‑border crisis‑management group arrangements and supervisory information‑sharing for global systemically important banks.
