Trump's media company has launched a paid Truth API feed offering accelerated
access to its content. Some trading firms have signed up, but others, including
Hudson River Trading and Castle Securities, say they will not pay, arguing the
feed is not necessary for trading operations. Legal experts say existing
insider-trading rules do not clearly cover a sitting president using his media
platform to disseminate market-moving information or selling faster access to
that information. SEC Chair Paul Atkins said in an interview the SEC is
monitoring the Truth API data stream.
