Anthropic is in talks to acquire AI startup Decart AI for about $6bn, sources
said. The deal is not final and negotiations could collapse. If completed it
would be Anthropic’s largest-known acquisition and comes amid market
anticipation of an Anthropic IPO. Decart’s software increases chip efficiency,
lowering AI model training costs and potentially allowing Anthropic to scale
existing infrastructure. Anthropic rarely pursues large acquisitions but has
been investing heavily in compute to develop products and serve customers.
