A U.S. F-22 based in Japan made an emergency landing at Kadena Air Base in Okinawa on the 11th at about 10:20 a.m. local time. Fire and maintenance crews inspected the jet for roughly 20 minutes before towing it to the ramp; the aircraft reportedly experienced a malfunction.

Iraq's State Oil Marketing Organization (SOMO) said an Abu Dhabi energy firm is among purchasers exporting Iraqi crude through the Strait of Hormuz. Earlier reports said ADNOC’s trading arm has transshipped Iraqi cargoes to Asian buyers via Hormuz, a practice that typically involves tankers switching off transponders to avoid detection and has kept Middle East oil flowing to global markets. SOMO head Ali Nizar said Iraq’s exports through the Strait jumped to about 2 mln bpd this month, up from levels in the months after the Iran war began but still below pre-conflict roughly 3.4 mln bpd.

WHO Director-General Tedros said on the 12th that recent US adjustments to the childhood vaccination schedule depart from scientific evidence, warning that delaying or splitting vaccinations could leave children exposed to infectious-disease risk for longer. The remarks follow an executive order by Trump to reduce the number of childhood vaccinations; WHO said it is concerned.
