China's bank wealth-management market hit a record in July, topping 35 tln yuan,
driven by deposit rollovers into wealth products and quarter-end deposit flows
returning to wealth management. An industry compilation shows 14 wealth managers
with AUM above 1 tln yuan (six state-owned bank platforms, eight joint-stock
bank platforms), representing roughly 80% of the market, net-added about 1.7 tln
yuan in the first seven months; fixed-income+ product AUM rose by about 1.66 tln
yuan. Those 14 firms had combined outstanding AUM of 27.1 tln yuan at end-July.
The Banking Wealth-Management Registration and Custody Center reports total
market outstanding at 33.66 tln yuan at end-June.
