Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) said the Australian dollar slipped below 0.7050 in the Asian session after RBA assistant governor Kent delivered dovish remarks. Kent said financial conditions remain somewhat tight and that earlier three rate hikes are working as expected, adding that a weakening housing market often means policy need not further slow demand. CBA FX strategist Samara Hammoud expects falling house prices will weigh on household spending and forecasts the RBA will hold rates for now and cut twice in 2027.

Shanghai crude (SC) main futures fell across the board: SC crude down 1.80% at 544.2 yuan/barrel; low-sulfur fuel oil (LU) down 1.85% at 4,560 yuan/ton; fuel oil down 0.72% at 3,741 yuan/ton; asphalt down 0.02% at 4,310 yuan/ton.
