At the morning close, China's main futures contracts were mostly higher. Rapeseed oil and lithium carbonate rose over 2%. Industrial silicon, Soybean No.1, low‑sulfur fuel oil (LU), fuel oil, live hogs, synthetic rubber, polysilicon and coking coal gained more than 1%. On the downside, palladium fell over 3%; SHFE silver and platinum dropped more than 2%; stainless steel (SS) and SHFE gold declined about 2%.

At SMIC's Q2 earnings meeting, co-CEO Zhao Haijun said sales by region were China 90%, the US 8% and Eurasia 2%. Revenues rose in all regions; China led with a 22% increase driven by strong demand for AI-related chips, return of overseas orders and expanded localized manufacturing. Wafer revenue by diameter was 12‑inch 78% and 8‑inch 22%; 12‑inch wafer revenue rose 24% QoQ and 8‑inch wafer revenue rose 11% QoQ.

Jiangsu governor Liu Xiaotao urged China International Capital Co to use its global network to mobilize sovereign funds, top investors and long-term patient capital to support the province’s push to cultivate new productive forces and deepen tech‑industry integration. He asked CICC to focus on emerging pillar and future industries, deliver full‑spectrum, customized financing and guide high‑quality sci‑tech projects to land in Jiangsu to raise the capital market’s aggregation effect and core competitiveness. Jiangsu said it will continue to optimize the investment‑financing ecosystem and work with CICC to build precise matching platforms to improve the quality and efficiency of financial services to the real economy.
