Arab satellite TV’s English channel, citing military sources, reports Yemen’s Houthi forces have freed hundreds of prisoners on the condition they join the militia and fight on nationwide fronts. Sources say 850 detainees were released from prisons in Saada, Hajjah and Sana’a on that condition, and the Houthis are preparing to free about 1,400 more from Zamar province for deployment across multiple battlefronts.

The U.S. state of Indiana emergency operations center and state officials said on Aug. 15 that consecutive strong storms and flooding have killed at least six people.
