Changqing Oilfield's appraisal team in the eastern Ordos Basin completed an ultra‑long horizontal deep coalbed methane (CBM) well. The horizontal section measured 3,100 meters and the coal seam encounter rate was 95.8%, the longest horizontal section recorded in China's deep CBM drilling.

A-shares opened higher and extended gains into midday; Shanghai Composite +0.84%, Shenzhen Composite Index +1.26%, ChiNext +1.33%, STAR 50 Index +3.04% at the break.
