NESDC said Thailand GDP rose 1.9% YoY in Q2, above economists' median 1.8% but
down from 2.8% in Q1, as rising energy prices offset an investment pickup and
government stimulus. Seasonally adjusted GDP contracted 0.2% QoQ, less than the
-0.4% economists had expected. The government has tapped 400 billion THB
(~$12bn) in emergency borrowing for cash transfers and energy-transition
support, yet Thailand again lagged major Southeast Asian peers. NESDC projects
2026 full-year growth of 2.0–2.5%.
