On Aug. 14 the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit ordered the district court to rehear DJI's challenge to its inclusion on the Pentagon's Chinese Military Company (CMC) list, a procedural victory for the company in a multi-year U.S. legal dispute. DJI was first placed on the CMC list in Oct. 2022. After appeals failed, DJI sued the Pentagon in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia in Oct. 2024; a district ruling in 2025 upheld the Pentagon and DJI subsequently appealed.
