China's Li chaired a State Council meeting on Aug. 17 and called for active measures to stabilise external demand, expand international trade cooperation and promote more balanced trade growth. He urged stronger technology enablement to accelerate the shift from old to new growth drivers, increase support for emerging pillar industries and future industries, and advance upgrades of traditional sectors to shore up the real economy.
