President Trump said he is unhappy the US agreed long ago to joint military drills with South Korea, calling them costly and largely paid for by the US. He said it is too late to cancel and has instructed the defense secretary to sharply reduce the scale of the exercises. Trump added he asked the South Korean president about joining US action to denuclearize Iran; the reply was "No, thank you."
