The UN Food and Agriculture Organization and UN Satellite Centre said in a
geospatial assessment on June 24, 2026 that only 3% of Gaza Strip farmland is
both accessible and undamaged, a 25.5% decline since October 2025. The drop
mainly reflects reduced access to fields rather than additional physical
destruction. FAO said urgent action is needed to restore safe access and provide
farmer support or prospects for recovering local food production will continue
to shrink. Basic agricultural imports and distribution are constrained; farmers
face severe shortages of seed, fertilizer, irrigation equipment, fuel and other
inputs, while livestock producers lack feed, veterinary supplies and
animal-health services.
