The National Healthcare Security Administration (NHSA) set four priorities for the '15th Five-Year' universal healthcare plan. 1) Strengthen system and close gaps: tighten the universal medical insurance framework, raise maternity medical expense coverage and fully establish a nationwide long-term care insurance scheme to reduce regional and group disparities. 2) Push reform and coordination: deepen payment-method reform, drug price governance and dynamic adjustment of the medical insurance reimbursement list; enable medical institutions and support pharmaceutical innovation. 3) Tighten management and service: institutionalize spot inspections, routine audits and intelligent monitoring, and intensify crackdowns on insurance fraud to protect the medical insurance fund. 4) Reinforce foundations and support: strengthen legal and standards work, upgrade medical insurance information systems and extend public-service reach to underpin long-term development.

The UAE Foreign Ministry said it has suspended all trade, commercial and financial transactions with Iran until further notice amid regional escalation. The ministry’s director of strategic communications, Afra Mahash Al Hameli, dismissed reports questioning the state of UAE‑Iran economic ties.
