The Ukrainian Air Force said on social media in the early hours of the 20th that Russian forces launched a new round of ballistic missile strikes targeting Kyiv. Around midnight it warned multiple ballistic missiles were heading toward Kyiv from Chernihiv and Poltava oblasts. Xinhua reporters heard several strong explosions in Kyiv and reported a short power outage in the Dnipro district; earlier they heard two separate rounds of sustained explosions. As of filing, Kyiv's air raid warning remained in effect.
