A Pew Research Center survey found U.S. adults under 30 have grown more negative
toward AI and increasingly fear widespread job losses. For the first time since
the poll began in 2021, more 30-and-under respondents said they were worried
about AI than excited. Almost 75% of under-30s now expect AI will reduce job
opportunities, up from 61% two years ago. The group — among the most skilled AI
users — has swung from being the most optimistic to one of the most skeptical,
citing threats to entry-level roles that traditionally provide an initial
foothold in the labor market.
