Hong Kong, Aug 19 (Wed) — The Hang Seng Index closed up 23.92 points, or 0.09%, at 25,495.07. The Hang Seng Tech Index fell 57.13 points, or 1.21%, to 4,682.05. The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index (HSCEI) rose 18.01 points, or 0.21%, to 8,471.21. The Hang Seng Red Chip Index fell 29.83 points, or 0.71%, to 4,153.21.

Xiaomi says its next-generation humanoid robot is about 1.7m tall, weighs 66kg and has 66 degrees of freedom (DOF), with roughly half the DOF concentrated in the hands. The unit is at prototype stage and will be exhibited in China first, then shown in Europe. In 2022 Xiaomi unveiled a full-size humanoid robot Tieda (1.77m, 52kg, 21 joint DOF), which debuted about two months before Tesla’s Optimus prototype; Xiaomi has issued few public robotics updates since.
