Taiwan Weighted Index (TAIEX) opened up 372.73 points, or 0.83%, at 45,092.08 on Aug. 20 (Thursday).

Xiansheng Pharmaceutical on Aug. 20 said it has struck a strategic cooperation with Ruiyang (Shandong) Biopharmaceutical on the domestic Class-1 biologic new drug Kulaivebai mAb injection. Under the deal Xiansheng will hold exclusive commercialization rights in Greater China. The marketing authorisation application has been accepted by the National Medical Products Administration’s Center for Drug Evaluation (CDE) and placed in priority review. The company said the collaboration will strengthen its anti-infectives product portfolio.
