Aug 20, 2026 — Unitree Robotics founder and chairman Wang Xingxing said the
company has deployed robots in automotive factories and run internal factory
tests, and its AI team is developing household-task capabilities, but overall
efficiency and generality remain insufficient so Unitree has not launched
large-scale commercial rollouts. He said an 'embodied‑intelligence ChatGPT
moment' — where robots can complete roughly 80% of tasks in about 80% of
unfamiliar scenes via voice or text commands — could ideally occur in 2–3 years,
or take 5–10 years. He identified the key technical barrier as aligning large AI
model I/O with physical robot control.
