On the 19th the Pentagon updated U.S. casualty figures for its military action
against Iran since Feb. 28 to 18 dead and 757 wounded. The Defense Casualty
Analysis System briefly removed four deaths and dozens of wounded from its tally
before restoring them, prompting questions from media and lawmakers; the
Pentagon said the removals reflected a "temporary data interruption" and that
slower disclosure of casualty information during the campaign was for "security
needs."
