A British report on the 19th said grain exports from Russia and Ukraine in the Black Sea and Azov Sea are virtually halted, with export capacity losses exceeding 97%. The report said Ukraine struck Russia's Novorossiysk port last week, forcing suspension of three major grain terminals (NZT, NKHP and KSK). Ukraine's Odesa port has been largely closed since late July. Ukrainian Agriculture Minister Taras Vysotsky said no new ships had entered ports by mid‑August; Ukrainian Black Sea ports currently have no commercial cargo operations. A small Russian grain terminal at Tuapse remains nominally open with roughly 160,000 tonnes/month capacity. Kazakhstan Grain Union head Yevgeny Karabanov said civilian Black Sea shipping is almost at a standstill.
