Shanghai will launch a 'trade-in' home-purchase mortgage subsidy effective Aug. 21, 2026, through Mar. 31, 2027. Residents who buy a newly built commodity home located outside the city’s Outer Ring Road and complete contract online registration, and who sell a Shanghai second‑hand home within one year before or after that registration, may apply to the district real estate transaction center for the subsidy. The subsidy equals 1% of the new-purchase mortgage amount, capped at 50,000 yuan per unit. The program is funded at 200 mln yuan total and will operate until funds are exhausted.
