Iran’s foreign ministry on 20th denounced new US economic and trade sanctions as
“economic terrorism” and a violation of sovereignty, and said Tehran will use
“all tools and capabilities” to protect national interests and citizens’ rights.
The statement said the sanctions follow failed US–Israel military aims and are
intended to coerce the Iranian people, but will not weaken Iran’s resolve.
Tehran called the measures a continuation of a “tested and failed” policy and
said it will rely on domestic capabilities and decades of experience countering
US pressure.
