Electrek, citing two people familiar with the project, reports Tesla (TSLA.O)
has stopped production of its Solar Roof tiles, notified third-party installers,
and will sell only conventional solar panels going forward. One source said
Tesla internally concluded the product was not financially viable. Tesla’s Solar
Roof page now redirects to Solar Panels and the energy menu no longer lists
Solar Roof; the company stopped disclosing standalone Solar Roof installation
figures in quarterly results in early 2024, confirming a multi‑year wind‑down of
the product.
