Qatari prime minister and foreign minister Al Thani, speaking at a joint news conference with Egypt’s foreign minister, said Qatar will continue coordinating with Egypt to press for a final, sustainable agreement on the Iran issue to end the war and military escalation. Qatar’s foreign ministry said diplomats agreed the region has been in a difficult situation since the outbreak of the US‑Iran war, with extremely serious negative effects across the region. Al Thani stressed the need to ensure freedom, safety and protection of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and Bab al‑Mandeb, saying international shipping must not be held hostage or used as political blackmail and condemning actions that obstruct maritime traffic.

MOFCOM data: China’s actual use of foreign capital was RMB 438.33 bln in Jan–Jul 2026, down 6.2% YoY. Newly established foreign-invested enterprises totaled 37,711, up 4.4% YoY. By sector, manufacturing attracted RMB 109.43 bln; services RMB 319.95 bln. High‑tech industries drew RMB 182.31 bln, up 32.7% YoY, accounting for 41.6% of total used FDI (up 12.2 ppt YoY). Within high tech, FDI into R&D and design services, technology commercialization services, and electronics & communications equipment manufacturing rose 72.1%, 62.2% and 39.9% respectively. By source, investment from Saudi Arabia, France and South Korea increased 343.7%, 36.1% and 15.8% (including free‑port flows).
