U.S. President Trump will visit Ireland on Sept. 12-13.

Israel’s Channel 12 reported on the 23rd that Syrian transitional government foreign minister Shibani met with Mossad director Gofman. The meeting was described as “effective” and aimed at easing bilateral tensions after an Israeli airstrike on the Abu Zuhur airbase in Idlib province on the 18th, which the transitional government condemned as “an unjustified act of aggression.”

U.S. House Speaker Johnson told Fox News he expects the war with Iran to "soon enter a new phase," saying he believes U.S. allies will assist in the next stage and that "we will finish this." He credited President Trump with preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, calling that a shared goal of previous administrations. Johnson added "we cut off the snake's head" — referring to elimination of core leadership — and said Iran cannot be trusted at the negotiating table, which he described as the key challenge.
