Xpeng founder He Xiaopeng said a factory-fitted production Robotaxi equipped with second-generation VLA has completed more than 2,000 internal test rides in Guangzhou and run full end-to-end passenger demo operations. The company has completed development of a cloud-based takeover platform and is targeting passenger operations without safety drivers next year. Xpeng has formed a group-level business development team and is in talks with domestic and overseas partners to commercialise and internationalise its Turing AI chip, second-generation VLA model, Robotaxi and humanoid-robot technologies.

On Aug. 24, 2026, XPeng Group said its humanoid robotics unit signed equity financing agreements with multiple investors, raising more than $900m in its first funding round and achieving a post‑money valuation above $6.3bn, a record for single‑round private equity financing in China’s embodied‑intelligence sector.
