Iran's economy minister told Fars News that the recent depreciation of the rial reflects heightened tensions in the media environment and that authorities are working to normalize the foreign-exchange market.

HKEX filings show that after Alibaba (09988.HK) announced a HKD80 billion new share placement, chairman Joseph Tsai and CEO Wu Yongming bought a combined ~HKD120 million of Hong Kong-listed Alibaba shares. Tsai bought 720,000 shares at an average HKD112, spending about HKD80 million; CEO Wu bought 350,000 shares at an average HKD111.6, spending about HKD40 million. Total purchases: 1,070,000 shares for roughly HKD120 million.
