Precision Mechanics (Chinese Academy of Sciences), led by Liu Hongjun, published
in Laser & Photonics Reviews a demonstration extending nonlocal metasurface
control to continuous‑wave nonlinear mid‑infrared frequency upconversion
imaging. The technique enables compact, low‑cost, high‑sensitivity mid‑IR
detection with on‑chip integration potential; cited application areas include
gas detection, environmental monitoring, biomedical imaging and integrated
photonic sensing.
