A social‑media post on Aug. 24 said multiple industry sources believe approvals
for newly proposed lithium‑battery capacity in H2 have largely stopped and
short‑term approval activity is stalled. MIIT staff said they found no related
notice on the ministry website. Executives at several listed battery and energy
companies said they had received no official notice. Liu Yong, secretary‑general
of the energy‑storage branch of the China Chemical and Physical Power Industry
Association, said he could not verify the report, that a blanket suspension was
unlikely, but MIIT could make targeted adjustments.
