China A-shares closed with the Shanghai Composite up 0.19% after an afternoon
rebound; the Shenzhen Component fell 0.35% and the ChiNext dropped 1.00%. More
than 4,200 stocks advanced. Turnover was 1.8443 tln yuan, the 10th session this
year below 2 tln yuan, down 176.9 bln yuan from the prior day. Grain-related
names led gains: Xinhua Department Store recorded its third straight daily
limit, Denghai Seed its second, and Wanxiang Denong and Jinjian Rice hit limits;
Shennong Seed, Huazi Industrial, Qiule Seed, Tianhe and Kangnong Seed also rose.
The CRO sector showed strength: Kailaiying hit the limit, Nearshore Protein and
Hendy Pharma rose over 10%, with Yinuosi, Medixi, Chengda Pharma, Heyuan Biotech
and Jinshi Yaoyao following higher. Precious metals tumbled: Western Gold and
Zhaojin Gold fell more than 7%; Hunan Silver, Xingye Silver & Tin and Xiaocheng
Technology retreated. Energy metals weakened: Shengxin Lithium Energy, Yongxing
Materials and Rongjie fell over 6%, while Ganfeng Lithium and Yongshan Lithium
also declined.
