Night session opened with most domestic front-month futures trading lower: fuel oil and low-sulfur fuel oil (LU) down more than 5%, ethylene glycol (EG) down over 4%, Shanghai crude oil (SC) and synthetic rubber down more than 3%, asphalt, methanol and styrene (EB) down over 2%. Shanghai zinc and lead posted small gains.

A-share market opened: Shanghai Composite down 0.48%, Shenzhen Composite Index down 0.80%, ChiNext down 0.84%. CPO and F5G concept stocks led declines.

US President Trump tweeted he will not interfere with Canadians speaking French. Foreign media report French-language rules have become a contention point in the US-Canada trade row. Canadian law requires product labels in both English and French; the US has long viewed such language requirements as a trade barrier. Earlier, Prime Minister Carney said Canada "cannot accept" a US trade proposal aimed at weakening protections for the French language.
