The Pennsylvania Department of Health said on the 25th it recorded two measles-related deaths — the first measles deaths in the U.S. in 2026 and Pennsylvania's first in 35 years. Both decedents were unvaccinated. Health Secretary Debra Bogen said 28 counties have reported 393 confirmed measles cases in the state this year, about half in Lancaster County; roughly 20% of confirmed patients required hospitalization.

China's deputy permanent representative to the UN, Sun Lei, said on the 25th at a joint UN80 dialogue convened by the Executive Boards of UNDP, UNFPA and UNOPS that UN80 offers an important opportunity to improve the UN development system's quality and efficiency. China is willing to work with other member states to prudently and steadily advance UN reform and effectively shore up the UN's development pillar.
