Preliminary shipping data published Wednesday showed five bulk commodity vessels
transited the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday, unchanged from Monday but well below
the 10-day average of 15, Kpler said. Kpler’s initial tracking indicated two LPG
tankers and one asphalt tanker departed the strait, while two empty product
tankers entered from the Gulf of Oman. Monday saw four bulk vessels. Data may be
revised as some ships switch off AIS transponders. Traffic through Bab al-Mandeb
was largely unchanged at 31 vessels on Tuesday, versus 29 a day earlier and
broadly in line with the 10-day average.
