Shanghai municipal government office issued the city’s Strategic Emerging
Industries "15th Five-Year" development plan, directing accelerated R&D and
commercialization of edge AI chips, next‑generation displays and
flexible‑material sensors. The plan prioritizes technology iterations including
MicroLED, optical waveguide lenses and high‑performance rendering engines;
mandates development of lightweight, multimodal edge vertical models and
model‑compression algorithms to enable edge model performance broadly comparable
with cloud‑based large models. It also targets AI consumer terminals—AI PCs, AI
phones, AI glasses, bionic robots and smart wearables—and supports a "product
design + standard parts assembly" manufacturing model.
