An Angus Reid Institute survey shows Canadians began curbing US purchases after the US tariff threat in July: 40% of grocery shoppers and 39% of alcohol buyers say they now check country of origin and largely choose Canadian or other non‑US products; 52% say they probably or definitely will not buy US cars, 60% say they will not buy US liquor, and more than 70% say they will not buy US eggs and dairy.
