Business Insider reports NVIDIA (NVDA.O) is negotiating to acquire AI platform Hugging Face, which hosts open-source models, in a deal valued at over $13 bln. Sources say serious talks occurred in recent weeks but no agreement has been reached and negotiations could still collapse. Microsoft (MSFT.O) met with Hugging Face previously but has no ongoing contact, sources added. Last year Hugging Face turned down a $500 mln investment from NVIDIA that would have valued it at $7 bln, citing a desire to avoid a controlling investor. The acquisition would be among NVIDIA’s largest deals to date.
