The general offices of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and three other ministries issued a notice launching a special campaign to improve production consistency and quality of road motor vehicle products. The campaign targets four areas: production consistency, reliability, durability and testing/validation of new technologies. Durability enforcement will focus on automakers' new-vehicle design service life and R&D cycle practices. New-technology checks will assess whether innovative designs adequately evaluate risks from user habits, misuse and extreme scenarios and whether marketing claims are accurate; whether new materials and structures carry defect or fatigue-failure risks; and whether testing and validation of driver-assistance and autonomous driving functions are sufficient, including product and cloud data security, network cybersecurity, AI safety, coordinated planning/construction/use, and completeness of logs for incident investigations.
