China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and three other
departments have launched a special campaign to boost road-vehicle production
consistency and quality. Local MIIT authorities must lead comprehensive
self-inspection and rectification of key vehicle makers against
access-management rules and priority remediation items, including production
consistency, reliability, durability, testing and validation of new
technologies, and key-parts supplier issues. Automakers must submit
self-inspection and rectification reports to local industry authorities by
end‑December 2026. Firms that identify defects must file recall plans with the
State Administration for Market Regulation and proactively implement recalls.
Local industry departments are to enforce responsibilities, tighten supply-chain
management and production-consistency controls, and require strengthened
testing/validation of aggressive innovation designs, full safety-risk
assessment, and prudent on-vehicle deployment of new technologies.
