China's Ministry of Water Resources said a visible landslide-dammed lake has formed near the confluence where Nepal's Cuojian River joins the Puzhepqiang Zangbu. Estimated volume reached about 2 mln cubic meters as of this morning and the lake is already overflowing; roughly another 3 mln cubic meters is expected to enter the lake over the next three days, leaving a high risk of breach. The ministry is closely monitoring the dammed lake and running flood/breach simulations to support emergency response.

Ohio Republican Senator Bernie Moreno urged USTR Greer to consider imposing tariffs on South Korea under Section 301 of the 1974 Trade Act, citing what he called Seoul’s “openly hostile” treatment of US e‑retailer Coupang — including heavy compliance burdens, excessive fines, criminal prosecutions of executives and biased enforcement. Moreno asked Greer to open a Section 301 probe; he noted Section 301 was the authority Trump used to impose tariffs. He said such action would further complicate trade talks with a key US ally. South Korea denies discriminating against Coupang.
