According to Lighthouse Professional, as of 18:24 on Aug 27 China’s 2026 summer movie season (June 1–Aug 31) box office reached 11.967 bln yuan, surpassing the 2025 summer total of 11.966 bln yuan.

Hang Seng China Enterprises Index (HSCEI) closed down 43.53 pts (-0.51%) at 8,490.31. Hang Seng Red Chip Index closed down 18.70 pts (-0.44%) at 4,230.44.

The Financial Services Agency warned single-stock leveraged ETFs can amplify Japanese market volatility and are unsuitable for sale in Japan. The FSA said such products are currently not permitted to trade in Japan but may be distributed overseas through local brokers. It said these products could have a material impact on Japanese financial markets. Leveraged ETFs linked to Kioxia Holdings, SoftBank Group and Nintendo are awaiting US listings; they target twice the daily return, or twice the inverse daily return, of the underlying share or its ADR.
