Australia business investment fell 3.6% QoQ in the quarter to June to A$51.0bn (~$37.0bn), the Australian Bureau of Statistics said on Thursday, as data‑centre and other IT spending dropped nearly one‑third from record Q1 levels. Investment was still about 11% higher YoY, led by an roughly 80% surge in data‑centre projects. Business investment intentions for fiscal 2026‑27 rose to A$200.7bn, 15.5% above the projection three months earlier, supported by AI and renewable energy projects.
