MOFCOM deputy minister Yan Dong said on Aug. 28 that China’s service trade
should see multiple tailwinds in H2. Travel-service exports are expected to
sustain high growth as international trade shows, business events and the
inbound tourism peak overlap. High-value service sectors — digital platform
services, cloud and AI-related services — are accelerating overseas expansion;
telecom, computer & information services, IP and culture/entertainment services
are also growing rapidly, pushing service trade up the value chain. Policy
support — capacity and quality upgrades in services, rollout of national
service-trade innovation pilot zones and the upcoming China International Fair
for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) — will further ease high-level opening and
higher-quality development. Outlook: full-year China service trade to remain
positive, with strong service export momentum.
